As this election finally is here
and I have cast my vote for the Republican candidate, I will try to communicate
the reason that I voted the way I did.
Let’s look at the incumbent:
In foreign policy, the last four years
have been disastrous, embarrassing and deadly.
President Obama has bowed before foreign leaders, apologized for the
things that make this country great, and alienated our allies. The Fast and Furious scandal which cost at
least one border patrol agent his life would have sunk any other president who
did not have the cooperation of the main stream media. The stonewalling and covering up has been
shameful. The fact that we are now
closer allies with the Muslim Brotherhood than we are with the nation of Israel
is dangerous to the stability of the Middle East and the peace of the
world. The Benghazi incident, where four
Americans (including our Ambassador) were killed in cold blood, would be
laughable if it wasn’t so tragic. The fact
that our President, Secretary of State, and other Administration Officials
fabricated a story about a spontaneous protest over an anti-Muslim movie and
then used it as an excuse for the reprehensible murder of American citizens, is
beyond the pale of acceptable conduct.
Criminal charges should be brought against those who knew what was
happening and refused to help. Those, including
the President, who perpetuated this cover up should be fired or impeached.
Our domestic policy is even more of
a concern. The economy has fallen off
the edge of a cliff and I am not sure we can get it back. It’s not just about gas prices or the
unemployment rate. Those are bad
enough. It is about this idea that we
can just print more money (QE infinity) and somehow that will get us out of the
current recession that we are in. That
has never worked in history. It didn’t work
in prewar Germany or in South America, and it won’t work now. We may have already gone too far to ever get
it back. I know. It’s all George Bush’s fault. Silly me!
There comes a time when the President has to take responsibility for
what he has done. Blaming someone else
is not leadership.
All of these combined would be reason
enough to vote against the incumbent. Four
more years of his type of leadership may lead to the downfall of the country we
know and love. I do not believe that is
an alarmist or extreme prediction. It is
just the simple truth. But the title of
this article is “Why I Voted for Mitt Romney” not “Why I Voted against
President Obama.” The reason that I
voted for Romney is summed up in the number 55,000,000. 55 million babies killed due to abortion
since the inception of Roe vs Wade. This
holocaust is going to be judged by history as something that will define our
culture. I am a pro-life voter. What a candidate believes about the value and
source of human life, tells me a lot about what he/she believes about a lot of
other issues. Some would say, “You can’t
be a one issue voter!” I can and I
am. To me this issue far overshadows
every other issue. I cannot and will not
vote for a candidate who refuses to protect the life of the most innocent and
helpless in our culture. God is the
Author of life and only He has the right to end it. Therefore, I did cast my vote for Mitt
Romney.
To my pro-abortion friends, I want
to say that you are my friend and I care for you. As far as I am concerned we will continue to
be friends. I will never change my mind
on this issue, so it will do us no good to argue about it. I have heard all of the defenses and I reject
them all. I understand that you may as
feel strongly on the other side of this issue as I do on this side. I will pray that God changes your mind
because I cannot.
Tomorrow it will all be over and
decided (Thank God!). My prayer is that
God will turn this country back to Himself, whoever wins.
